Job Summary

A wholly indigenous Oil Servicing Company in Port Harcourt is currently looking to hire a senior-level professional to fill the vacant position of General Manager.  

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, assign weekly performance goals, ensure their completion, and accomplish your own goals
  • Recruit, onboard, and train high-performing employees to achieve sales, profitability, market share, and business-plan objectives
  • Maintain project timelines to ensure tasks are accomplished effectively
  • Develop, implement, and maintain budgetary and resource allocation plans
  • Delegate responsibilities to the best-qualified employees and enforce all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural values
  • Resolve internal staff conflicts efficiently and to the mutual benefit of all involved
  • Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility into the goals, progress, and obstacles of key initiatives
  • Draw on relationships with department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals 

Job Requirements/ Qualifications

  • More than ten (10) years of experience in a senior leadership role as Operations/General Manager in the Oil and Gas sector with hands-on experience in Well Test Services, Pumping Services, Well Head Services, Pipeline Pigging, Coil Turing, Slick line/Wireline, Welding & Fabrication services, or any related services.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or any related field in Engineering. An MBA in Business Management or a related field will be an advantage
  • Proven experience in a managerial role
  • Strong decision-making ability
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
  • Proven ability to develop and achieve financial plans
  • Ability to motivate and lead employees, and hold them accountable
  • Strong working knowledge of operational procedures
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, and employee management 

NOTE: Expatriates will also be considered for this position and industry experience is non-negotiable. Qualified candidates residing outside PH are also encouraged to apply
